Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Retort Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring retort equipment, ensuring food products are cooked at the appropriate temperature, pressure, and time, thus maintaining food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Control the loading and unloading of products in retort equipment efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate major issues to maintenance.
  • Ensure proper calibration and functionality of cooking systems.
  • Maintain thorough documentation relating to machine settings and production results.
  • Communicate effectively with team members for smooth operations.
  • Adhere to company policies and protocols at all times.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience working in a team environment, especially in food production.
Technical Skills
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
Soft Skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Background in food science or technology: Understanding of food safety protocols and processing methods.
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles: Ability to apply Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points principles in food processing.
