Mohel

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mohel to perform circumcisions for Jewish newborn males. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of Jewish circumcision practices, ensuring the safety and comfort of the newborn and their family during the procedure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct circumcision ceremonies while ensuring respect for Jewish customs.
• Educate families about Jewish circumcision practices and aftercare.
• Maintain a compassionate environment for clients and their families.
• Document each procedure accurately for records and follow-up.
• Participate in community outreach to educate about circumcision benefits and practices.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a recognized Mohel training program
• Certification by a recognized Jewish organization
• Current license to practice as a Mohel

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience performing circumcisions for newborn males.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Jewish circumcision practices
• Medical knowledge

• Interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Hebrew: Fluent

• Fluency in Hebrew or Yiddish: Ability to communicate fluently in Hebrew or Yiddish enhances connection with families.

• Experience with newborns with medical conditions: Specialized skills in handling infants with specific medical needs.
