Job Description

As a Recreation and Fitness Studies Teacher, you will design and implement wellness programs tailored to individual or group needs. You will lead fitness classes, provide guidance to participants, and assess their progress, all while fostering a motivating and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging group fitness classes and workshops.
  • Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes participation.
  • Monitor and maintain fitness center equipment to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Engage with participants actively to enhance their experience.
  • Implement creative methods to adapt instruction to various skill levels.
  • Conduct health screenings and fitness assessments for participants.
  • Develop partnerships with local businesses for wellness events.
  • Educate the community on the importance of physical activity and nutrition.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay certified and informed.
  • Mentor junior staff or interns in wellness program delivery.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Kinesiology, or related field
  • Master's degree in Exercise Science or related field is advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in wellness program management or related position
