Job Description
As a Transit Authority Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of passengers and employees in various transit systems. This role includes responding to emergencies, enforcing laws, and actively patrolling transit facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Monitor surveillance systems and analyze footage for security breaches.
  • Assist in training new officers in procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and interactions with the public.
  • Engage in crowd control during large events or emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with emergency services in crisis situations.
  • Assess and report hazards in the transit environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to travelers and employees.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of police academy training or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficient in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
  • Radio communication equipment Skilled in the use of radio equipment for communication.
  • Excellent communication skills Strong ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Problem-solving skills Highly capable of assessing situations and making informed decisions.
  • Certification as a police officer in the state of California
  • English (Fluent)
  • Spanish (Conversational)
Advantageous
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish: Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking passengers.
  • Experience working with diverse populations: Familiarity with the challenges and needs of various demographic groups.
