Job Description

The State Epidemiologist plays a vital role in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on disease patterns and health conditions statewide. The individual will work closely with public health officials, drive epidemiological investigations, and devise strategies designed to protect and improve public health.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee health data analysis and report generation for state health metrics.
  • Facilitate disease outbreak response efforts with local and state agencies.
  • Drive collaborative research projects aimed at understanding infectious diseases.
  • Engage in public outreach and education initiatives focused on health promotion.
  • Implement quality assurance practices to enhance data accuracy.
  • Mentor junior epidemiologists and public health analysts.
  • Establish protocols for effective disease surveillance and reporting.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field
  • Doctoral degree is strongly preferred
Experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in public health or epidemiology
