Job Description
As a Fishing Vessel Mate, you will assist in navigating and operating the fishing vessel alongside the Captain. This position requires strong leadership skills to manage the crew and ensure safe and efficient fishing operations.
Responsibilities
Support the Captain in daily vessel operations and navigation.
Lead the deck crew in performing fishing-related tasks.
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on fishing equipment.
Ensure all fishing gear is in good working condition.
Process and store caught fish to maintain quality.
Assess weather conditions and plan accordingly.
Act as a liaison between the crew and the Captain.
Document fishing catch and performance metrics.
Conduct inspections of onboard supplies and provisions.
Take part in continuous training for safety and efficiency.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
Experience with vessel maintenance and fishing operations strongly preferred.
