Job Description

The Direct Chill Caster (DC Caster) plays a crucial role in the metal manufacturing process. This position involves overseeing the direct chill casting process to guarantee that high-quality metal products are produced efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in metallurgy and a solid understanding of casting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Control and oversee the Direct Chill Caster operations.
• Ensure the consistent delivery of molten metal into the casting system.
• Evaluate casting quality and make adjustments to prevent defects.
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on machinery.
• Follow safety guidelines thoroughly and maintain workplace cleanliness.
• Coordinate with team members to fulfill production quotas.
• Keep up with production data entry and logging.
• Highlight and facilitate improvements to enhance casting efficiency.
• Assist in onboarding and mentoring newcomers to the team.
• Engage in quality inspection tasks and follow procedures.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional technical training in manufacturing processes preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in casting operations.
