Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to work closely with secondary students with unique learning requirements, supporting their transition from school to the workforce or further education. This role includes developing tailored educational plans and career counseling to enhance student success.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver lesson plans that accommodate a range of learning styles.
• Monitor and evaluate students' emotional and social development.
• Support students in developing effective study and time management skills.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop holistic approaches for student success.
• Guide students in identifying their career interests and strengths through assessments.
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss progress and strategies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional skills.
• Engage in community outreach to develop post-secondary opportunities for students.
• Foster a positive classroom environment and build relationships based on trust and respect.
• Document and report any concerns regarding student welfare and progress.
