Job Description
As a Layout Worker, you will be integral in assembling and erecting ship components. You must ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards while working with various materials, such as metal and plastic.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints thoroughly to understand assembly requirements.
Prepare materials, including steel sections and beams, for assembly.
Connect, align, and secure ship parts using various techniques.
Conduct routine inspections to verify adherence to safety and design specs.
Handle a variety of tools necessary for ship assembly work.
Work with team members to improve assembly techniques and timeliness.
Keep the workspace neat to foster a safer working environment.
Address assembly challenges quickly as they arise.
Keep diligent records of assembly processes and materials utilized.
Follow comprehensive safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Technical degree in a relevant field is a plus
Experience
Minimum 2 years of related experience in ship erection or assembly
