Job Description

We are seeking a dependable Tug Captain to operate and maneuver tugboats for assisting cargo vessels in and out of various ports. The ideal candidate will possess excellent navigation skills, a deep understanding of marine regulations, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate and operate tugboats in busy waterways, assisting with berth and unberthing operations.
  • Document and maintain accurate logs of vessel movements and inspections.
  • Train and mentor deckhands on safe operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with port authorities to comply with local maritime regulations.
  • Conduct fuel and supply checks on tugboats before operations.
  • Handle emergency communication and coordinate response efforts.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Tug Captain or deck officer.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent navigation skills
  • Knowledge of marine regulations

Certifications
  • License from the US Coast Guard for Master of Towing Vessels
Languages
