Job Description

As a Hand Edger, you will play a crucial role in our Optical Finishing team, responsible for shaping and smoothing the edges of a variety of materials using hand tools. This position demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality, ensuring that each edge is polished to perfection. Successful candidates will have experience with hand tools and a passion for craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand tools to refine and smooth the edges of eyewear frames.
• Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure standards are met.
• Implement best practices for tool handling and maintenance.
• Work with the design team to achieve specific aesthetic finishes.
• Maintain detailed logs of production activities and materials used.
• Assist in the development of new techniques to enhance efficiency.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and improvements.
• Report to the Production Manager on daily activities and challenges.
• Promote a culture of safety and efficiency within the workplace.
• Mentor junior staff on techniques and company standards.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in carpentry or woodworking preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years of relevant experience required
