Job Description

As an In School Suspension Aide (ISS Aide), you will play a pivotal role in supervising students who have been temporarily removed from their classrooms due to behavioral challenges. Your responsibilities include maintaining safety, assisting with academic tasks, and fostering a positive environment for personal growth. You will work closely with teachers and administrators to manage in-school suspension effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with school policies during in-school suspensions.
  • Facilitate discussions with students about their behaviors and ways to improve.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of in-school suspension strategies.
  • Engage with parents and guardians regarding student behavior and progress.
  • Coordinate with special education staff to support students with IEPs.
  • Promote an atmosphere of respect and responsibility among students.

Requirements

Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with students in a school or youth development setting is preferred.
