Job Description

We are seeking a Hebrew Cantor to lead services and musical events at our synagogue. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of traditional and modern Jewish music, and should work collaboratively with synagogue leadership and other musicians.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct the congregation in prayer and song during services.
  • Educate the community on traditional Jewish music and prayer practices.
  • Engage with the younger generation through the synagogue's educational programs.
  • Prepare special music for High Holy Days and other significant occasions.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in music or a related field
  • Ordination or certification from a recognized Jewish institution
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Hebrew Cantor or in a similar role
