Job Description

As a Prepress Technician, you will operate teletypesetter machines to prepare text for printing or publication. You will play a critical role in ensuring that printed materials are produced accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include proofreading, correcting errors, and managing the technical aspects of the printing process.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust teletypesetter machines for various print jobs.
• Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Ensure that all materials are prepared and available for production.
• Train new staff on operating procedures and safety standards.
• Maintain records of production and quality checks.
• Work closely with designers to ensure print readiness.
• Implement best practices for workflow efficiency.
• Assist with inventory management of printing supplies.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 1-3 years of experience in operating teletypesetter machines or related fields

Technical Skills

• Teletypesetter operation
• Proofreading
• Basic computer skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
