Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher to join our passionate team. You will be responsible for teaching sewing techniques and garment construction to students ranging from beginners to advanced levels.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in garment construction and pattern-making techniques.
  • Evaluate student projects and foster a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Guide students in troubleshooting sewing issues and enhance their problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinate with other teachers to support integrated learning experiences.
  • Encourage student creativity and innovation in sewing projects.
  • Organize sewing workshops and community outreach programs.
  • Implement assessment and grading policies to maintain education standards.
  • Assist in managing classroom resources and inventory.
  • Foster a culture of respect and inclusivity among students.
  • Build relationships with students to better understand their learning needs.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, or related field
  • Master's degree is a plus
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience teaching sewing or similar subjects
