Job Description

Seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy County Counsel to assist in delivering expert legal guidance to county officials. The successful candidate will engage in high-stakes legal analysis and representation in various civil matters.

Responsibilities

  • Advise county departments on compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Assist in the preparation of case strategies for litigation.
  • Draft and review contracts and agreements to ensure legal soundness.
  • Conduct trainings on legal responsibilities for department staff.
  • Coordinate with other government agencies on matters requiring joint legal strategies.
  • Engage in community outreach to provide legal education on relevant issues.
  • Participate in local government meetings to represent the county's legal interests.

Requirements

Education
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation or public law
