Job Description

Join our team as a Photo Cartographer, where you will be responsible for transforming aerial images into detailed geographical maps. You will leverage your technical skills in GIS and cartography to ensure the highest quality outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire aerial photos using UAVs (drones) or satellite imagery for mapping.
  • Process photos with photogrammetry software to create 3D models and orthorectified mosaics.
  • Perform quality control checks on all data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Create detailed maps using GIS software that meet client specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Participate in project kickoff meetings to understand client objectives.
  • Report on progress and challenges to the Director of Geospatial Solutions.
  • Assist in conducting field surveys as needed for data validation.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Cartography, GIS, or related field
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred
Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in GIS and cartography

Languages
  • English: Fluent

  • Knowledge of remote sensing techniques: Familiarity with remote sensing data extraction and analysis.
