Job Description

As a Railroad Brake, Signal, and Switch Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of train movements. Your responsibilities include operating switches, signals, and brakes, as well as coordinating with engineers and dispatchers to maintain the integrity of train schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Control and monitor track switches and signals for effective train operations.
  • Assist engineers with train departures by managing brake systems.
  • Consistently enforce safety protocols to minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with dispatch to relay train status updates.
  • Perform detailed inspections of signal equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Support maintenance teams in addressing equipment failures.
  • Compile reports of daily operations for management review.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in railroad operations preferred
