Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Timber Cruiser who will assess and evaluate timber resources to support sustainable management practices. The ideal candidate will conduct field surveys, collect data, and produce accurate reports that aid in forestry management.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate forest conditions through systematic field surveys.
  • Measure and analyze timber volume and growth patterns.
  • Prepare and present findings in detailed reports for the forestry team.
  • Collaborate with ecological specialists on forest health assessments.
  • Stay current with industry advancements in timber management.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines during all field operations.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all activities.
  • Foster relationships with landowners and stakeholders for effective management.
  • Assist in project planning related to timber resource assessments.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions about forest management.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in forestry or timber assessment
