Job Description

As a Scrub Nurse, you will play a critical role in the surgical team, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all instruments are sterile and ready for use. Your expertise will provide essential support to surgeons and contribute to patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the surgical room and ensure all necessary instruments are sterile.
  • Support the surgical team by efficiently handling surgical instruments.
  • Document patient information and assist in care planning.
  • Maintain a clean and safe operating environment at all times.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective surgery workflow.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout surgical procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement techniques.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.
  • Oversee the cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Engage in continuous learning to advance nursing skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Education
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Successful completion of a perioperative nursing course or program
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Scrub Nurse in an operating room setting.
