Job Description

As an Airport Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of airport operations. This position involves responding to emergency situations, controlling and extinguishing fires, conducting rescue operations, and providing medical assistance in critical situations. You will work as part of a dedicated team to uphold the airport’s high safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced fire rescue services and emergency care during critical situations.
  • Perform routine checks and maintain fire safety equipment at the airport.
  • Collaborate with airport operations for effective emergency preparedness.
  • Train new team members in firefighting protocols and procedures.
  • Engage in community outreach to promote fire safety awareness.
  • Stay updated on FAA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in reviewing operational manuals and emergency response protocols.
  • Coordinate with local hospitals and medical teams for emergency scenarios.
  • Prepare and participate in fire drills to ensure readiness.
  • Maintain communication with other fire departments for mutual aid agreements.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • HAZMAT Operations certification preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in firefighting, specifically in aviation environments is highly desirable.
