Job Description

The County Attorney is responsible for providing legal guidance and representation for the county government. You'll assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures, while also offering legal advice on various issues.

Responsibilities

  • Work with law enforcement and community organizations to ensure public safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation of litigation materials.
  • Engage in public speaking, presenting legal information to various stakeholders.
  • Facilitate meetings with department heads on legal issues.
  • Monitor changes in legislation that may impact the county's operations.
  • Provide legal support for county initiatives and community programs.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on legal topics for county staff.

Requirements

Education
  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Master’s degree in Law or related field is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in law, particularly in a government setting.
