Job Description

Seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to oversee disaster preparedness and response initiatives in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will develop strategies, manage training sessions, and coordinate with various agencies to ensure community safety during emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver emergency management training sessions for staff and volunteers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans through simulations and drills.
  • Engage with community stakeholders to inform them about disaster preparedness resources.
  • Assist in conducting after-action reviews and recommend improvements.
  • Compile and distribute emergency management resources to the public.
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and emergency response agencies.
  • Support the maintenance of emergency communication systems.
  • Oversee the logistics of emergency response supplies and equipment.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Safety or Emergency Management
  • Relevant certifications preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in emergency management or crisis response
