Job Description

The Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution Program Officer is tasked with spearheading various initiatives aimed at fostering dialogue and understanding within communities impacted by conflict. This dynamic role involves not only implementing programs but also engaging with local organizations and stakeholders to bring about lasting change. A successful candidate will possess a keen understanding of conflict dynamics and will work collaboratively to create frameworks for sustainable peace.

Responsibilities

• Create, develop, and drive peacebuilding initiatives that engage affected communities.
• Lead workshops aimed at resolving conflicts and improving community relationships.
• Perform research to identify patterns in conflict and recommend effective resolutions.
• Build and sustain partnerships with stakeholders at local and regional levels.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of ongoing programs.
• Provide assistance to community leaders in conflict mediation.
• Prepare educational resources focusing on conflict awareness and resolution.
• Organize community forums to discuss peacebuilding strategies.
• Collaborate with other organizations to enhance program reach.
• Facilitate communication between various stakeholders to ensure program alignment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in International Relations, or related field
• Master's degree in Conflict Resolution is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a non-profit or related field

Languages

• English: Fluent
• French: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience working in crisis zones: Hands-on experience in conflict or crisis-prone areas is a plus.
