Canine Handler (K-9 Handler)

Job Description

As a Canine Handler, you will play a vital role in ensuring safety and security through training and handling of canine units. This position demands a high level of physical fitness and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare. Ideal candidates will have significant experience with dogs in law enforcement or security settings.

Responsibilities

• Handle and control K-9 units during operational duties.
• Assess and report behavioral issues or health concerns of assigned dogs.
• Collaborate with other K-9 handlers and law enforcement personnel for effective operations.
• Provide training to new canine handlers and assist in their integration into the team.
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions, incidents, and canine health assessments.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Canine Handler preferred

Experience

• Experience in handling a variety of dog breeds and sizes.

Certifications

• Prior military or law enforcement experience

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in Canine First Aid: Knowledge in providing emergency care to canines.
