Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Coffee Sommelier to join our team. As a Coffee Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional coffee tasting experiences, educating customers on different coffee varieties, and assisting in curating our coffee menu. You should have a deep passion for coffee and expertise in flavor profiles, brewing techniques, and coffee origins.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coffee education sessions for staff and customers to promote knowledge about coffee varieties.
  • Evaluate and recommend new coffee suppliers to expand our offerings.
  • Develop unique tasting experiences that engage our clientele and highlight our best selections.
  • Utilize sensory evaluation skills to assess coffee quality and identify defects.
  • Implement customer feedback to improve service and offerings.
  • Stay abreast of coffee cultivation and processing methods to provide accurate information.
  • Foster a strong community between customers and the coffee culture.
  • Take inventory of coffee beans and manage stock levels.
  • Assist in training new staff on coffee preparation and service.
  • Collaborate with marketing for promotional coffee events.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field is a plus
  • Advanced certification as a Coffee Sommelier or higher is highly desirable
Experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the coffee industry, particularly in tasting and selection.
